Fall Fashion: Boots

My favorite part of fall (besides my shows which start back up this week) is the fashion. Scarves, jeans, hoodies and boots. I have a few pairs of boots that I've purchased more than once because when I wear them - I realllly wear them. I've also had the heals on those boots replaced because like I said, I really wear them.

Check out these beauties that I'd love to have join my closet.

1. TOM's look alike Bootie
($39.95)
super comparable to TOM's but half the price. Check them out - there are SOO many different colors.

($55.52)
I love this Cognac color because it would go with everything. Everyone needs a pair of shoes in this color - flats or boots.

3. Combat Boots
($24.15)
My little sister has been all about these boots. They are super cute on her and all her teeny bopper friends and I'd love to own a pair but I'm unsure if I could pull them off.

4. Camo Combat Boots
($21.99)
I've been obsessed lately with styling Kingston in camo - but I've realized it's totally a unisex pattern and girls can pull it off just as well.

5. Quilted Boots
($41.52)
Love these!

Who knew Amazon sold such cute stuff at super affordable prices?

Crafting: Kingston's Nursery

I think it's finally time that I reveal all of Kingston's nursery to you lovely readers. Thankfully, I started working on this bad boy as soon as we found out that we were pregnant because I haven't wanted to do anything in there for a few weeks.

I knew our decor scheme was going to be similar whether we had a boy or girl:
dark walls, white furniture with metallic and either mint or raspberry accents.

Let me remind you of our nursery inspiration.

Spring Scarves

Scarves have become one of my most favorite/coveted accessories. In the winter - I wear them with every single outfit. I have black ones, sparkly ones, colorful ones, infinity ones, cowl ones and grandma looking ones.

I've recently realized that there are some scarves in my collection that can be worn longer than just during the cold winter months. And since my office building is the same temperature all year round (freezing) I don't get too many weird looks wearing them.

Here is one way I wore my scarf into Spring.

Make any scarf a spring time scarf by tying it into a fun little bow.
Just like you would tie your shoes - tie the scarf!

Check out some other Spring time scarves I found on pinterest!

So many cute styles/colors.
I need each piece in my closet asap.

Which is your favorite??

Operation Project Nursery: Closet Makeover

Yesterday evening I spent 30 minutes with a roll of wrapping paper, some scissors, and a can of spray adhesive and came out with my favorite nursery project yet - a wrapping papered closet!

{You can check out what all i've accomplished in the nursery so far (here) and to learn a little background on the space we are working with.}

This closet originally housed all of my seasonal decor, our Christmas tree, luggage, and cleaning supplies. Because it housed so much junk, the walls were nasty and super scuffed. I knew I didn't want to spend time painting it so I had to come up with a different solution.

Heather at Southern State of Mind used moustache wrapping paper to line a  dresser and I knew I could use the same concept to line the walls in our little man's closet.

During:

After:

This project was totally meant to be when I headed to Hobby Lobby and was able to snag the last roll of this super cute black and white mustache wrapping paper. Plus with my 40% coupon it came out to only costing me about $2.99.

I started out by measuring the sections of the closet with a tape measure and then using the oh so handy grid on the back of the paper to cut straight lines.

When it came to actually hanging the wrapping paper up - I started off thinking double sided sticky tape would do the trick. . . . not so much. Luckily, I had some left over Elmer's Spray Adhesive which is seriously the best invention ever and easily did the trick. We live in an apartment so I knew I didn't want something permanent. This was the perfect solution -  it's not permanent but it's definitely sticking!

I love it so much that I want to leave the closet door open 24/7.
You can't beat a project that turns out this well - especially when it only took 30 mins of my time and cost $2.99.

What can you spruce up in your house with wrapping paper?

I got a secret, can you keep it?

So. . . "I got a secret, can you keep it? Swear this one you'll save. Better lock it, in your pocket. Taking this one to the grave. If I show you then I know you wont tell what I said. Cause two can keep a secret if one of them is dead."

I am obsessed with Pretty Little Liars and more importantly their style.
I having the darndest time trying to figure out who "A" is though. Each week we get no where closer to finding out who it is. If I had to guess I would think it would be Spencer's mom.
It's just a hunch, but seriously who is it already?

Anyways, to the fun part.
Each one of the girls has their own unique style completely different from the others.
Spencer's is more classy with a bit of preppy mixed in.
Hannah's is more chic and girly with a few vintage pieces.
Emily's is more sporty and comfy casual.
And Aria's . . .  I l-o-v-e Arias!
Girly mixed with a little punk, and lots of black!
I totes want her wardrobe as my closet.

She pulls it off so well plus she's gorgeous so that helps.

Who's style do you like the most?

My Dream House: According to Pinterest [4]

Linking up with Michelle for "Oh How Pinteresting"

Feel free to check out my dream house part 1, part 2, and part 3.

Before I start, I just want to throw this out there: Pinterest is the deadliest website ever.
It has my expectations so high for how I want my future home.

  • How magnificent is all the natural light coming in from the windows and doors. I love the color on the walls too.
Mint is so hot right now!
  • How sweet is this little dog bed. Bentley would love to have his very own hide-a-way. And it's so chic.
  • This is the perfect breakfast nook. I don't think anything could make this  any better. I love the mismatchness of the chairs and pillows.
    Absolutely perfect.
  • This closet has me drooling. CT and I would be set for life. And a plus, there would be no need for dressers because of the built in drawers.
  • How fab is this great room? Exposed wood beams, the walk way upstairs, the floor to ceiling stone. WOW!

Do we have any of the same tastes?

Love the P.I.N.K lace thongs! My fav!
And it's nice because it's 7/$26 till Monday.

Feel free to send me anything and everything found on these three lists!
That would make me one happy birthday girl.  =))

Hopefully CT takes my advice and visits this post!

My Dream House: According to Pinterest [2]

After my post on Wednesday about my first apartment/home, it has really given me the itch to move. It doesn't help that one of my best friends just purchased a house and has finally completed decorating it, and another one of my best friends just had their offer accepted on their first home.

Since it's not quite my time, I can't do anything other than turn to Pinterest to pin for the future! These are some things I'm loving at the moment.

Potted herb garden. <3

Gorgeous outdoor kitchen <3

What an amazing sun porch! <3

cozy and pretty <3

Build a naked closet on a bare wall of your bedroom. Hang a curtain rod from the celing and attach a snazzy curtain to pull to cover and viola! <3

  • Potted herbs in the ground. I'm obsessed with outsides and gardens. What a classy and controlled way to contain the herbs.
  • If I had an outdoor kitchen like this, there would be no need for me to have an inside kitchen. How fabulous is it? And look at the view from the grill. It's to die for!
  • This is what a sun porch is suppose to look like. Light and airy! I love the color scheme. Pillows are an easy way to spruce up any room.
  • How warm and cozy is this room? There is no way CT would ever go for something like this in our bedroom, but I could totally see this as the color pallet for a little girls room. I can picture it now: white crib, pink accents, dark gray accent wall and rug! =)
  • I am such an organizer, so of course this closet organizer makes my heart happy! You spend so much money on all those articles of clothing and shoes, you might as well have a beautiful way to display it all. This design is awesome because it is snug against the wall and has a fabulous curtain that it hides behind.

Until the day comes where I have a beautiful house of my own, I will continue to pin for it! Follow my progress here, and check out my first set of pins from My Dream House: According to Pinterest (1).
