Recap: Baby Shower #3

This weekend Kingston, CT and I were spoiled with awesome advice and gifts from some of my best friends. 

My friends Katie and Jenna hosted the cutest shower that matched perfectly with our nursery color scheme - black, white, mint, metallic, and mustache. 

(We totes didn't plan to match - but we did!) 

Cupcakes, cream puffs, cream cheese goodies, sandwiches, punch. 

This pregnant mama to be was happy! 

I am so thankful to all the ladies that came to help us celebrate! 

(And the ones that couldn't make it but still sent gifts)

The best piece of advice that I received yesterday:

As excited as you are to see all of those 'nexts' (rolling over, crawling, walking) - just live in the moment. They are only little once so cherish each and every day. 

This is something I plan to work on every day. Time passes too quick. 

As new parents I hope to soak it all up and live in the moment - the good and the bad! 

Week 21

How far along: 21 Weeks

Food Comparison: Banana

Gender: Boy!! 

Weight gain: +10 lbs 

Maternity clothes: I own a few pieces but haven't really worn any of them yet. 

I was able to wear jeans to church yesterday and I remember why I stopped wearing them 2 months ago - not comfy! 

Stretch marks: No - still slathering up with my belly butter!

Belly button in or out: In with belly button ring. The transition process has sure started though. It is slowly becoming an outie.

Sleep: Brutal but I was able to get in a 3 hour nap yesterday to make up for some of it. 

Best moment last week: Putting together Baby K's crib!! Things are really coming together in the nursery. Plus I've been stalking our tracking numbers and we have the remaining big items being delivered this week!

Worst moment last week: Having to make 2 trips to Ace Hardware during out fix it projects. 

Miss anything: Margaritas and (non baby related) going down south for Spring Break trips with a banging body

Movement: Yes! They are getting stronger as the weeks go on. I love it! 

CT said yesterday 'there will come a day soon when you will want him not to move because it won't feel good.' That might be true but until then - I can't get enough.

Cravings: Ice cream sandwiches and bomb pops. 

I have a feeling I'll be enjoying many of these all summer long. 

Queasy or sick: Some movements make my stomach drop - like we've just driven over a steep hill. It's weird. 

Looking forward to: Getting all of our goodies in the mail this week. 

Prayer Request: Last week I read a blog post about raising a teen who doesn't date too young. It was extremely eye opening and something I hope CT and I can instill in our children. So this week I'm going to start praying for Baby K's future spouse.

Hopefully it's never to early to start.  

Operation Project Nursery

I was able to get SO much done this weekend in Baby K's nursery, and as I sit here sore all over writing this post - I am so glad I started this process when I am only 19 weeks. I can't imagine how limiting things are going to get in the next few weeks, but thankfully this weekend I was able to take full advantage of all the extra energy I have.

I'm so happy to say operation project nursery is in full swing! 

Last year as soon as we found out we were pregnant, my mind immediately began dreaming up the perfect nursery for our soon to be babe. 

Let me start out by giving you some details on our current living arrangement: 

Currently, we rent a 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom apartment from family. Our apartment is extremely unique and it has quite the unusual layout. When we moved in 4 years ago we transformed one of the bedrooms into our living room. In our bedroom there are two closets but they are small - so of course I claimed both of them. This made CT get the two larger closets (which are jam packed) located in our now living room. With our first tax return as a married couple we splurged on a nice oversized couch and love seat for our living room.

Needless to say we had lots of decisions to make when it came to where we were going to put our nursery. If ever, it was time to get creative!

Option 1: Move and no longer pay $350 a month for rent.

Option 2: Sell our nice living room furniture and transform the original second bedroom into a nursery. This means CT gets rid of one of his closets so the baby can have one. This would also mean he would have to go into the baby's room to get dressed. 

Option 3: Transform our current dining room, the room that you walk directly into from outside our apartment, into the nursery. That would mean having to move the dining room table and buffet into the craft/hobby room. That would also mean we would need to sell the desk, book cases, and oversized chair currently in the craft/hobby room. This would also mean that I would have to reorganize and store all of my craft stuff in the buffet. 

In the end - option 3 won out. 

CT didn't want to give up the couches or a closet, so we will make things work! 

Surprisingly, I am super happy with our decision and everything is coming together perfect.

Crazy BUSY Weekend!

What a whirlwind of a weekend! 

 I successfully completed 95% of our Christmas shopping with only getting myself one gift.

 I decorated our apartment for Christmas, complete with a tree hooked up to a clapper. Laziness at it's finest! 

I cleaned out and colored coded both of my closets. I have two bags going to goodwill (clothes from high school) and two bags going to my litter sister (stuff that's cute that just doesn't fit).

I threw out and organized all of my beauty products. 

I scrubbed the bathroom floors, counters, and mirrors. 

Basically . . . I killed this weekend!

CT on the other hand . . . not so much.

Besides winning his last football of the season, he didn't really have the best of luck.

He left his keys and wallet in KC Saturday night, and then on Sunday he locked me in the car and then locked himself out of our apartment. He was without a jacket, in the freezing cold, waiting for a neighbor to show up to let him in. What's funny was I was in the warm car but couldn't get out because his annoying alarm would have went off with no way of turning it off. 

He was awesome at life this weekend! 

This week has started off amazing! I'm absolutely in love with this time of the year. Gatherings with friends, staying home, cuddling, watching tv . . . nothing is better! 

 God is good ya'll! 

Weekend Recap

Whew! What a weekend. Like all the others, it went by ridiculously fast. 

When are we as a country going to go to 3 day weekends? 

This needs to happen asap! 

Anyways, this weekend was full of sports: football, baseball, and volleyball.

Whenever anyone asks me what I did this weekend, my response is always sports related. It's just what we do. 

CT had a game on Saturday where they lost by two missed p.a.t's. 

Along with their physical loss, they also lost their quarterback to a torn ACL and their best defensive player to a broken fibula. 

Not a good day for the Friends Falcons. =(

But on a more positive note, the CARDINALS won and they are headed to the world series!! 

We are trying to find a way to make it to Sunday's game. 

Wish us luck . . .because we are only going if we can find tickets for under $200 a piece.

 "It's hard out here for a pimp." 

We are on a budget ya'll! 

 If it's meant to be it will be. 

Also, this weekend was homecoming at Friends and with that comes the alumni volleyball game. 

Bruised thumb and floor burns = old and broken.

 Need I say more? 

It was pretty brutal!

Football Filled Weekend

So, I'm just going to tell you this now - if you don't like football or sports in general, you should probably stop reading now and come back around May. With being and athlete, marrying an athlete, and having a husband that teaches and coaches our lives are jam packed with sports activities and I wouldn't have it any other way.

This weekend CT had his second football game of the year where they were unsuccessful in beating Benedictine College.  After his 6pm game, we busted it to KC in order to get plenty of beauty sleep for the following Sunday football game, Chiefs vs. Cowboys. 

This was the first time CT and I have really had a trip or vacation with our family since being married. We always go home and we get together for the holidays but we don't really do much outside of that. This was nice. 

You can tell from my outfit that I went the comfy casual look. It rained a bit while we were tailgating and at the beginning of the game so I'm glad I wore a light jacket. Also, knowing beforehand that those chiefs fans were intense, I didn't rep the navy star this weekend. CT got hackled enough for the both of us, but I still was in the color scheme: navy, white, and silver. 

We really had a good time besides the fact that we lost by a point. =(( 

Tony Romo sealed the deal with me yesterday. I'm really no longer a fan of his. His performance was extremely disappointing. You make 100 million dollars dude, show us why.

Family Time

Whew! What a weekend. It's hard getting back in the routine of things coming off a 3 day weekend, except really for me it's a 9 day weekend! 

Yey to not starting my new job till next Monday! 

This weekend I left CT at home since he had football and school, and heading North to spend some much needed time with my family. I hadn't been home since around April so it was good to be home. 

My mom always spoils me when I go home. I don't know why I don't do it more often! Crab legs and shrimp, lunch dates, pedicures, new work clothes. She's the best!

I am 1/18 first cousins on my moms side and we know how to have a good time!

Weekend Recap

Friday night, CT and I did a little babysitting. We had the luxury of hanging out with little miss Aynslee, and this was something I had looked forward to all week!

Her parents work 3rd shift, so we got to do all the fun stuff with her: feeding, playing, bath time, prayers, etc. 

After bath time she hung out with CT while he crushed some candy.

I love how focused they both are on the game!

I also did a little bit of shopping this weekend. 

If you like a good deal, I advise you to head to target ASAP! Most of their summer sandals and wedges are on clearance and then an additional 20% off on top of that.

I also stopped by the Christian book store to pick up some tabs.

I have such the hardest time finding the books in the bible so this will hopefully make it easier! 

I'm obsessed.

Alphabet Weekend Warriors: C

I'm joining in with Kallie over at But first, coffee to showcase various date ideas using all the different letters of the alphabet. 

I was assigned the letter: 

Since Sunday's are usually CT and I's day to cram everything into, this day was no different.

I chose to do a day where I began with some alone time and then end with a day date with CT.

I started my day off bright and early at 6:45am and headed over to a little coffee and donut shop called the Donut Hole. 

They have all type of fun donuts: maple bacon, cherry cobbler, peanut butter and grape, smores, tiramisu, and so many more!

I chose to get the chocolate crunch donut and a coke.

Note to self: next time don't choose the chocolate crunch.
It's WAY to sweet!

I think I'm going to start making this my Sunday morning ritual, because it's only a block away from my apartment and such a fun environment. 
Maybe I'll start working my way through their list of wacky donuts! 

I then began to get caught up on my daily devotional. 

{I am doing the She Reads Truth - Women in the Bible daily devotional and I strongly recommend it to any and everyone!}

Before I headed home to get ready for church, I noticed that there were tons of carvings in the table and I couldn't leave without carving my initials. 

Reppin' TT, all day every day! 

I then went home and got ready for church with CT. 

This is where our day date begins! 

I curled the hair, and whipped out my go to cream shirt, and threw on the cheetah flats. 

{This is the part in my day where I knew I had taken this whole 'c' thing to the extreme, with trying to incorporate it into everything!}

CT and I then headed to church for an hour of worship. 

Our church is crazy.

How fun is this set?

 Living in Mars. . . I love it! 

After church, CT and I headed to Chili's for some lunch. 

Since we are cheap and had some coupons, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to use them! 

I ordered a small order of cheese fries with a caesar salad and a coke, and CT ordered chicken fried chicken with corn. 

Their cheese fries are delicious dipped in ranch! 

{I looked into their calories just out of curiosity, and for just a half order of cheese fries they have 1230 calories! Wow!
 I'll make sure to skip these the next time we eat there.}

We ended our meal with our go to dessert at any restaurant, the infamous cookie.

CT said it was the best one he's ever had, but I think Old Chicago still has it beat. I would have taken a few less bites of it if I would have looked at the calories of my cheese fries prior to eating this. 

After lunch we headed to a place here in Wichita called the Cow Town Museum. 

This was my first time going and it was really interesting. 

Basically, it's a make believe town here in the middle of Wichita where you can walk through and see how things were back in the old days. 

They had real life churches, a salon, print shop, barber shop, theater, jail, etc. 

We went right when they opened and it was like we had the whole town to ourselves!

To make it more life like, they had workers dressed up in old fashion attire to replicate how things were back in the day.

They also sold concessions at their saloon and I couldn't resist getting a crush!

After cow town, we came back home for some afternoon cozy time. 

Who doesn't love a nap on a Sunday afternoon?

All in all, CT and I had a really good time!

He thought the idea was silly at first, but the more the day went along, the more he got involved. 

I did learn two things from today:

1. I need to invest in a nice camera for the blog because the phone is no longer cutting it. 

2. I'm super corny and cheesy when it comes to making a day around a letter! I'm pretty proud of myself for how well I incorporated it into the day.
