Home Ideas I'm Lovin'

While we continue to wait for the sellers bank to get their crap together our first home - I've been pinning like crazy. CT's hunny-do list is miles long and I've found lots of fun ideas that I hope to make happen once we get those keys.

Here's what I'm loving . . .

1. Striped Accent Walls
I haven't decided if I'm going to go bold and do black or emerald stripes or stay subtle with white/grey stripes. All i know is that I need to make this a reality in my home. Such a simple inexpensive way to bring focus to an area.

2. Navy Front Doors
You want to set the tone from the beginning - what to expect on the inside shows with how the outside of your house looks. I love dark doors and pretty porches. We don't have a lot of room for more than a planter with flowers - so I hope to make the entry appealing by having a pretty painted door.

3. Tuft Headboards
I am obsessed with tufts - on chairs, ottomans and especially headboards. We plan to upgrade from a queen sized bed to a king and hopefully I can talk the hubby into helping me make a headboard. It shouldn't be too difficult or costly -  and can really bring drama into the bedroom.

4. Succulents
Inside and outside - I want lots of them! They are a minimal maintenance plant with lots of color and texture. It doesn't get much better than that.

5. Color Throughout
Whether its emerald in the living room, plum in the bedroom, navy in the bathroom or mint in Kingston's room - we plan to have lots of color throughout our house.

6. Pillows
When you see an abundance of pillows on a bed or couch, doesn't it make you just want to jump right in? Pillows make things look cozy and inviting. I have been on the lookout for the perfect pieces - but so far I haven't found anything I love that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

7. Sliding Barn Doors
My plan is to replace our laundry room door (that open into the hallway and blocks traffic from both sides when it's open) with a sliding barn door. My only concern is that I hope it doesn't clash since we are more of a 'modern' family.

8. Stained Concrete
Our soon to be basement has a finished bedroom and bathroom but the family room still needs completed. We plan to stain the concrete and cover most of it with a shag rug. It's cost effective and helps keep things cool during the summer. The only downfall is that during the winter it literally feels like Antarctica.

My to-do list is a mile long but hopefully I can make most of these things reality!

5 on Friday

1. I would say TGIF . . . but my Friday started on Wednesday and my weekend lasts until November. Oh the joys of maternity leave! Everyone says it goes by so fast but I hope it's the longest 3 months of my life.

2. We went out to a birthday dinner last night to a Mexican restaurant and everyone was ordering margaritas on national tequila day. I swear I'm not a lush but this summer heat has me really craving a nice frosty drink. Plus, Pinterest hasn't been helping either.

3. Nesting is in full swing around these parts these days. I even have the hubby in on it. We have went through our closets and uploaded everything to about 5 different buy/sell/trade groups on Facebook to try and get rid of this stuff. Feels good to purge this clutter we no longer need/wear and in return earn a little extra cash.

4. I'm officially SO huge that when my husband stands besides me - he looks like he weighs less then me. Such a sad day.

(Nursery tour coming soon!)

5. I can't wait for fall shows to start back up again.
I confess ... I'm a TV junky. Scandal. Grey's Anatomy. Betrayal. I've also seen a good trailer for How To Get Away with Murder. Thursday TV has and will always be my favorite

Hope ya'll have a good weekend and please be thinking about me. Hopefully by this time next week we will have a baby home with us!

What I'm Looking Forward To

Besides officially becoming a mama to a sweet little man -  there are a few things I'm looking forward to after becoming unpregnant:

1.  99 cent Margarita's at our go to spot - Playa Azul

2. Sleeping on my back

3. Not purchasing toilet paper every time I go to the store.

(Our current stash shot- courtesy of CT)

4. Being able to shave my hooha without the use of a mirror. Being able to see when I try and button any type of pants. You get the point - being able to see down there.

5. Going to the new trampoline park across the street from our apartment

6. Dieting & Working Out . . . NOT

7. Putting back on my beautiful wedding ring

8. Getting my third tattoo

All you preggo's out there.
You feel me?

5 on Friday

1. Yesterday, CT and I made the dreaded trip to Babies R' Us to return some gifts and to do our registry completion. We got all of our last minute things (minus the monitor which I'm going to order from Amazon) and then I was able to come home and organize - his room, the kitchen, the bathroom ... everywhere. Kingston can arrive any time now!

Super excited about our mamaRoo we got! I turn it on and want to get into it.
I may have googled the weight limit on it ;)

2. We literally have NO plans for today. How sad is that? We can't travel out of town - so we aren't getting together like usual with my family. CT's family waits until the last minute to get together so we haven't heard of anything going on. We could try and find a pool - but I'm cheap and don't want to pay for one and I look like I'm carrying a basketball in my stomach - I might scare the little kids.
Hopefully we can find some good food and a firework show somewhere!

3. Each night I get the 'tomorrow is Sunday' feeling. You know, the feeling you get when it's the last day off before the upcoming work week. Well, I have off until Tuesday and I love getting the 'tomorrow is Sunday' feeling but then realizing I have more days left in my long weekend.
You feel me?

4. I officially feel really pregnant. I have been so fortunate throughout this whole pregnancy - no morning sickness, no food aversions, no swelling .. but since week 35 this child inside of me has been kicking my butt! I feel like I have the 'waddle' with excruciating pubic bone pain and super achy joints. Hopefully I don't look as in pain as I feel. . . just a few more weeks!!

5. I have the book Baby Wise that was on my bedside table for weeks and as of yesterday it has made it into my purse. I just need to crack it open and start reading it. Any thoughts on it? I've heard great things about it but would love to hear from you other mamas if you have personally experience with it.

Pre-Baby To-Do List

6 weeks stand between me and Kingston's due date.
Time is flying around here and it doesn't seem like there's enough hours to get things done. Or maybe I'm just exhausted after work and want to do nothing but sit, eat, and blog.
Motivation needs to strike soon!

These are mostly mental notes to myself but let me know if I'm missing anything!

5 Randoms on Friday

Life's Randoms:

1.  Remember last week when I had a major dilemma with an at home self tanner
Well thankfully I had a friend introduce me to Suave's Visible Glow.

At the $6 price point - I'm super impressed!
No more missing areas.
 No streaks.
I still smell horrific throughout the day - but thankfully I've asked people around me and they can't smell what I smell.
Why have these companies not put a good fragrance to their product?
I have yet to find a self tanner that smells good.

2. The beginning of this week our air conditioner was acting funny and blowing out luke warm air. At 28.5 weeks pregnant - that was brutal. Anyways - CT and I pulled our mattress into the living room with the hope to get more air from the open windows and a ceiling fan.
Confession - it was fixed the next day and we are still sleeping in there!
We like to think of it as our own little fort. I guess you could say we are big kids at heart. We are breaking all the rules and it feels so good!

CT and I agreed that one day when we are rich and own a mansion with a movie room .. it will be just like this.

3. What was Jerry Jones thinking drafting at OT for our first round pick?
HELLO - we passed up arrogant/cocky playmaking Johnny Manziel. No one watches the line - we need playmakers. According to CT 'we went with a need instead of the best player available'.
 Boring!
I was hoping for No-Mo Romo.

4. I'm getting really good at this twice/thrice day old hair.
All you need is:

+ a headband!

I have a feeling that I'll be rocking this style daily as a new mom.

5. I purchased two Christmas presents yesterday. I'd say I'm a tad bit ahead of the game.
I wish I could show you all how awesome they are but the recipient of them might be reading this!

Thanks for stopping by!
I'd love for you to follow along for more of life's happenings.

My Life in Lists: You're Hired

Linking up again with Marci and Kelli again.

If I could hire someone to do anything for me - what would it be?

1. CLEAN!
Duh! Who wouldn't love to hire a housekeeper?
I enjoy picking things up and putting everything in its place (especially when I'm mad - it's the best therapy) but I do not enjoy deep cleaning.
Dusting. Vacuuming. Washing windows. Scrubbing the counters.
Nope ... not for me.

2. Hairstylist/MakeUp Person
I've never been good at this. I have a handful of go-to hairstyles - most of which include a ponytail.
I also never wore anything but mascara and eyeliner in high school and not much has changed since then.

If I could hire someone - I would hire Kim Kardashian's glam squad.

See the amazing transformation!
I'd love them to work their magic on me.

3. Masseuse
CT and I take turns rubbing/scratching each others backs every night for 10 minutes.
I'm greedy and this isn't enough for me.
If I could hire someone - I would hire a personal Masseuse to give me an hour massage each morning and each night.

4. Baker
I enjoy cooking meals but I'm not that grand of a baker.
If I could hire someone - I would hire someone to make me delicious goodies. Cinnamon rolls. Homemade donuts. Brownies, brownies, and more brownies. Icecream cakes.
You get the picture.
All this preggo can think about these days are sweets.

5. Personal Stylist
Especially now that I wear the same 4 shirts and same 4 dresses all the time, I'd hire a personal stylist. I'm too cheap to buy any new clothes for this growing bump and it doesn't help that I only shop at the discount stores.
If I could hire someone - I would hire someone to help me find some good pieces that can be worn all year - with or without a bump.

What would you hire out if you could?

My Life in Lists: If I had one MILLION dollars

This week I'm linking up with Marci - If These Walls Could Speak and Kelli - Team Gilbert for their new weekly link up - My Life in Lists.

I dream about this daily - what would I do with a million dollars?
How amazing would it be to come into a million dollars one day?
I guess it would only be amazing if I came into it anonymously.
With my million dollars this is how I would spend it:

1. Pay off our STUDENT LOANS
We literally could afford a nice house in what we pay monthly for our student loans.
The worst part about it all - I'm not even using my degree.

 2. Build our dream home.

 via

3. Be able to be a stay at home mom - Michelle Duggar style.
AKA have lots of babies and be able to afford them!
I would also want to be able to adopt 2 little mixed babies from the US too.

4. Travel:
Fiji

Hawaii

Castles

5. Invest it so I can make millions more!!

2 // Abercrombie 8 - Abercrombie & Fitch
3 // Viva la Juicy - Juicy Couture
4 // Love Spell - Victoria's Secret
