Weekend Recap

Whew! What a weekend. Like all the others, it went by ridiculously fast.
When are we as a country going to go to 3 day weekends?
This needs to happen asap!

Anyways, this weekend was full of sports: football, baseball, and volleyball.
Whenever anyone asks me what I did this weekend, my response is always sports related. It's just what we do.

CT had a game on Saturday where they lost by two missed p.a.t's.
Along with their physical loss, they also lost their quarterback to a torn ACL and their best defensive player to a broken fibula.
Not a good day for the Friends Falcons. =(

But on a more positive note, the CARDINALS won and they are headed to the world series!!

We are trying to find a way to make it to Sunday's game.
Wish us luck . . .because we are only going if we can find tickets for under $200 a piece.
"It's hard out here for a pimp."
We are on a budget ya'll!
If it's meant to be it will be.

Also, this weekend was homecoming at Friends and with that comes the alumni volleyball game.

Bruised thumb and floor burns = old and broken.
 Need I say more?
It was pretty brutal!

Are any of you as sports consumed as we are?

10 great things about living in Kansas

Contrary to what people may think, Kansas is more then just a fly over state.
It really does have a lot to offer!

1. On almost any given week, we get the pleasure of experiencing almost all the seasons. It can be raining one day, 90 degrees the next day, snowing the following day after that, and all days the wind will be blowing 40 miles per hour.

2. With this luxury, it gives us the ability to own multiple styles of clothes. Everything from vests, car harts, and itty bitty tiny weeny yellow polka dot bikinis, to uggs, sandals, and cowboy boots. We have four closets in our apartment and they aren't near big enough to hold all of CT and my clothes and shoes.

3. Kansas is home to Kansas University and the KU Jayhawks!
Winter time and basketball season is a great time to be a Kansas fan.

4. Every night you can go outside, look up and see an abundance of pretty stars.

5. In the same breath, we have the prettiest sunsets and sunrises.

6. We have the #1 {Cargill} and #2 {Koch Industries} largest privately owned businesses in the United States in Wichita, Ks. This means lots of good jobs that pay well.
One of them being mine, which I start today!

7. We are housed in the middle of the USA. That means we are about equal distances to each coast, north south east and west. This also means that if a terrorist was going to drop a massive bomb, they may start by dropping it over Kansas to see how much they could wipe out.
(That's not so much a great thing about Kansas.)

8. Cost of living here is awesome. You can get a super nice 3-4 bedroom house with 2-3 bathrooms, a basement, a yard, and a double car garage for $150,000.

9. We grow home grown sweet corn and lots of it.
I can't wait for the day where I can have my own garden like the one below and grow asparagus, onions, peppers, jalapeƱos, pumpkins, tomatoes, and corn!

10. Even though we are a fly over state, we are such a pretty fly over state.

It's always nice to go away, but it's always so great to come back home. . .
to Kansas!

What do you love about your state?

Mothers Day Weekend

I love the weekends!
Lounging. Cleaning. Sleeping in. Naps. Catching up on DVR. Loving on my husband and pupperz.

Yesterday was most definitely a Friday. It was such a CRAZY busy day at work. I think it mostly was due to our cosmetic clinic director only having 3 more days left with us. I'm already feeling the repercussions of her leaving. I got triple the amount of emails that I normally do. Things are about to get even more crazy. All I can do is take one day at a time and continue to check www.indeed.com in the meantime.

Last night a group of us girls got together for a going away dinner + drinks and then they all came back to my apartment.
We went to Mikes Wine Dive.

It was the best meal I've had in a really long time.
I got a fried egg sandwich, a spicy oyster appetizer, and some gourmet deviled eggs. I was going to get the smores for dessert but I was too stuffed by that time.
This is where CT and I will be going for my birthday dinner [in 19 days!] because it was so delicious.
Speaking of my birthday, we also got tickets to the circus! I can't wait.

Welp, it's mothers day weekend!
I hope ya'll did something special for your mom. My mom was able to come up to Wichita yesterday to be a training model for us at the clinic for injectables.
One of the many perks of my job!!
In the last month she has got more then $1500 in free product. I'd say that's quite the mothers day gift. =)

My mom also brought to town my new buffet table. Now I'm just needing to go find some red chalk paint and get to work.
There are so many apartment projects on the to do list.

1. paint buffet red
2. paint mantel white
3. add tile around bathroom mirror
4. paint bathroom
5. find a better fabric storage for hobby room
6. refinish kitchen table

Still on the agenda for the weekend: Wichita Wild football game, church, our nieces soccer game, and a dance recital

If Only

This past week + weekend has been quite the doozy!
I worked 40+ hours at my regular job at the cosmetic clinic, then an additional 11+ hours at my summertime/weekend job assisting with event coordinating.

As I was laying in bed last night, the bottom of my heels were throbbing all the way up into my calves. I then woke up this morning and my biceps were tender to the touch.
That just goes to show you I haven't hit the gym in awhile.
Note to self -- get with it!

This wedding I worked yesterday was absolutely gorgeous! I can't imagine how beautiful it would have been if it wasn't 40 degrees out and it would have went as planned.

They spent a pretty penny on this wedding.
A good couple 25 million pennies!

If only...
I had 1/6 of what they spent on this wedding I would be SOOO happy.
All I want is my darn student loans paid off. I'm so blessed to have had the opportunity to go to college but the payments after the fact are absolutely awful. CT and I will still be in debt when we are 90.
It's brutal.

We ended the weekend with some family time at church and lunch, and then a date night were we attended a local amateur hockey game.

It never fails, every game we attended our team loses.

This upcoming week we have lots to look forward to.
Final buff baseball games, another exciting dr. appointment on Wednesday to see if we get a green light, and some much needed mom time on Friday!

Beautiful things are about to happen!

Weekend Madness

Today and tomorrow are pretty crazy around here for me.
Between going to CT's little cousins basketball tournament, a co-workers baby shower today, church, and a work meeting tomorrow. I hope I have sometime to accomplish some chores and crafts!

Last night I had some free time to whip up part of my baby shower gift for today.

I made this taggie blanket in white minky and grey chevron.
[tutorial at a later date]

I also broke out my colorful springy fabric that Im going to use to make Spring bunting for our mantel.

I need to hurry and get this hung up before we skip right over Spring into Summer!

I also picked up these beauties at the store yesterday.

I am excited to play around with them and see if I can come up with something cool for next weeks nail files.

Have a good weekend!

Tiffany's Thursday Thoughts

Whew!

What a l-o-n-g week it has been. I am SO thankful tomorrow is Friday. After being gone to Hawaii for 2 weeks, coming back to work and having 2 grown up snow days, and then the last 2 Friday's in a row being off for a dr's apt and going out of town, I forgot what it was like to work 5 days in a row. Hopefully someday I will no longer have to work 5 days a week or better yet, what ever I'm doing won't feel like work. Anyways...TG(tomorrow)IF!

On a more EXCITING note... a big shout out and thanks to Beautiful Dawn Designs and Carrie Loves for the tutorials on how to add pretty social media buttons to my side bar.
I'm loving how it turned out!

I have been itching for a total redo of the blog, but until I fully commit to getting one designed this addition of the buttons will do.

I was informed today of an extremely affordable gal who creates super cute designs. Erin over at Love, Fun, & Football has a flat fee of $30 which I will someday use to recreate this mess I have created.

Includes:
Blog layout design.
Intro button with image & About Me section.
 Social media icons.
 Custom navigation bar/tabs.
 Labels for gadgets.
 Button.
 Signature.
 Installation.

What a steal! I think making the investment will motivate me to do better!

Check out these amazing business cards I am drooling over.

At the moment I don't really have a need for them, but I am throwing around the idea of opening up an Etsy shop. That would make these definitely a necessity then, right? =)

Maybe I should think of a name and fully commit to the idea before I order these beauties.

Names I have came up with so far: TiffRoss Creations, TiffRoss Couture, Ross Rosettes?? What a big decision, and of course my usually creative mind doesn't work well under pressure!

CT has his first Buffs baseball game next week. We looked at the weather this morning and the forcast says snow. =(( Fingers crossed that doesn't happen! It will be April by-golly and this snow stuff is getting really old.

Well, its left over night in our household and I plan on watching the new episode of Grey's & Scandal followed by a little NCAA Shocker Basketball.
Good luck Wichita State!
Represent.
