Crafting: Ring Bearer Pillow

At the beginning of this month I went down to Texas for my bsfs wedding, where I did a recap here. Succulents, burlap, moss, monograms, pastel colors = so pretty! 

She was freaking out a few weeks before the wedding because she hadn't purchased a ring bearer pillow or a flower girl basket. Luckily, I'm super crafty and I'm her friend so of course I volunteered to make her a pillow! 

I started with a trip to good ole Hobby Lobby picking up some burlap, twine, and some silk fabric to make the flower. Her colors were pastel so this peach matched perfect!

I then cut out 2 10.5'' by 7.5'' pieces from the burlap and some random cotton fabric I had laying around the house. I didn't realize the burlap was so see through, that if I wouldn't have backed it with another piece of fabric then you would have seen the stuffing. 

The finished pillow after I had stuffed it and used stitch witchery to close the gap. 

I then made the silk rosette flower, and then noticed it was missing something. I went to my craft room and busted out the vintage brooches I had.

 {my dad is an avid antique-r so he always finds me some goodies!} 

This was the original photo I sent her of the brooches I liked and thought went well. 

And what we ended up going with was completely different! 

{Don't mind the shadow. It's time for a legit camera and not just my phone!}

I added a twine bow which made it easy for the little may to hold on to and in case they wanted to tie fake rings to it.

This took me maybe 30 minutes and about $7. 

Can't beat that!!

If I Could Redo - [Cake]

 I hope y'all had a good weekend! 

I am going to pick right back up at part three in the four piece mini series: if I could redo my wedding with the help of pinterest. 

Today I am going to talk about the wedding cake, but feel free to check out how I would have redone my wedding attire and what type of flowers I wish I could have had.

We had cake and cupcakes in all different flavors!

{note to self or anyone else: choose one or two flavors of cake. If you have multiple, people will think they need to try all the flavors and your amount won't go as far}

I really do love the way it turned out with the sparkles and feathers, but I can totally tell though that this was my 21 year old mind thinking.

Even though I loved my cake, if I could redo it, it would be a little more elegant and classy. I love the idea of having the flowers all over the cake and nothing else, and I really love the lack of color. They are all just plain and simple, and very elegant! I could not have done anything like this originally because I wasn't using any flowers, but if I could redo you would find my wedding cake similar to one of these designs!

On Thursday I began a mini series on what I would change if I could redo my wedding with the help of Pinterest. I wasn't one of those lucky bride-to-be who had the help of Pinterest, so I currently have a board specifically for ideas if I could redo it! 

In part one I talked about attire, and today it is all about the flowers!

Since I enjoy being different and not doing what everyone else does, I decided at the very beginning of the wedding process that I wanted everything to be feathers instead of flowers. Our bouquets would be feathers, the centerpieces would be feathers, and our flower girl would be a feather girl and throw feathers! 

We worked with Geri from Ardesign {who we found on Etsy} to come up with the perfect design, and I was so thrilled with how they came out! 

What I love most is their uniqueness, but also that I am still able to have mine at home in a pretty little vase that I'll be able to keep forever! 

If I Could Redo:

If I could redo I would love to have flowers that were unique and different like the ones above. I would have a bunch of different flowers in a wide variety of colors. My colors for my wedding were fuchsia and black with the pattern damask, but if I could redo I would I have multiple shades in the same color family. All three of these bouquets are absolutely gorgeous! 

I love how they use their greenery in the bouquets and succulents are SO popular on Pinterest right now!

Recap: BSFS Wedding!

This past weekend I traveled down to the good ol' town of Texarkana to participate in my b.s.f's wedding! 

This weekend we had lots of coffee, a hot yoga date, and great food. 

Her wedding was extremely beautiful, an absolute fairytale. 

I don't think I have ever seen someone so in love and so beautiful. 

She really did make the perfect bride. 

Succulents, burlap, moss, pastel colors, monograms. 

It was gorgeous!! 

And the other good thing about weddings, is you get the opportunity to meet new friends.
