Free Children's Books!

Have you heard about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

On Facebook the other day - someone mentioned this really awesome program that if your zip code qualifies - they send your child a book (for FREE) each month until they are 5. How awesome is that?

I'm sure it's been around for ages, but me being a soon to be first time mom, just found out about it and I think it's awesome.
I hope Kingston enjoys reading as much as his mama does!

I was able to search our zip code and fortunately we qualify to receive these books! I'm pretty sure it's based on low income areas - and since we live downtown we qualify. Unfortunately, I've had a bunch of friends who have't qualified because they live in better neighborhoods.

Take a few minutes and see if you qualify.
There's not much better than books - especially if they are free!

PS - If I haven't talked you into it yet - take a look at this years book list:

Read-A-Thon

Are you a closet book worm or a nerd for words?

I stumbled across this awesome read-a-thon from Reviewing Wonderland that I REALLY wish I could take a part of.
Unfortunately, I'll be in NYC during this week, so it doesn't leave me much time to get lost in a book or two.

If you have some extra time off for the upcoming holiday week, check it out! I'm looking forward to them hosting their Winter Read-A-Thon.

Check out my current book list here.
I'm always up for suggestions!

Signs of Your Coming

Matthew 24:6-8

"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these things are the beginning of the birth pains."

I always think of this verse when I hear of the abundance of earthquakes going on these days. Yesterday there was half a dozen in Oklahoma, a huge on on the border of Iraq/Iran, and then I wake up and read that there was another one on a Japanese island.

I have no doubt that these are the beginning of our birth pains.
 Jesus is coming back ya'll!

Our world is so far gone, there is nothing more that can be done to save it. People target schools, movie theaters, and now sporting events. It's so sad that it has come to this.

It makes me so nervous to start a family in a world like this. A world that looks as though there is no hope for it to get any better.
That is until we reside for eternity in Heaven!

Some advice for me:
Find and strengthen your relationship with Jesus, because He is the only way to get there.

Books on Books

Check out my new page in regards to what books I have in my collection and what books I am wanting to read.

Any suggestions on an author or a particular book? I love suggestions from other readers.

The next book on my Kindle app ready for me to read is Naked by Raine Miller. This is the first book in the Blackstone Affair Series.

CT may not love it, but I love getting lost in a story! I get so caught up in the book making me basically dead to the outside world until I finish. I read while I'm in the car (being the passenger), while I'm browning hamburger, or while CT is watching a game.
It is so difficult for me to put down a good book!

You know you found a good book when you wish the story could continue for the rest of the characters life.

I have also been thinking about getting involved in a book club. Add that to the list of things/projects I have going on!
How does one go about joining a book club and what exactly do they entail?
Looks like I need to do a little more research.

Easter Weekend -- OOTD

I love holidays! What's not to love about tons of food and family.
It's crazy how fast each holiday comes and goes though. Before we know it, it will be my birthday (which is a major holiday in our household ;)), our wedding anniversary, and fourth of July (my favorite holiday).
I'm already counting down the days.

Dress: Gordmans / Shoes: Gianni Bini / Jewlery: Forever21, Stella&Dot, Nameste Bracelet, Godmans / Cardigan: Forever21

Linking up with  The Pleated Poppy.

I went shopping on Saturday morning and fell in love with this dress. The colors just scream 'spring' and I'm a little obsessed with the dresses and skirts that are short in the front and longer in the back. I have 3 of them!
I already know this dress will get a lot of use, especially with wedding season coming up.

Besides shopping and spending time with family this weekend, I really didn't get much else done other than some reading.
I broke my kindle a month after I got it and by the time I tried to fix it and use the warranty, it was to late. Bummer on my part. I added the kindle app on my phone and it works just as well as having the kindle! I was surprisingly shocked at how much I liked it. I am kind of over the massive amount of books I'm collecting.

I actually finished 2 books this weekend: Rush by Maya Banks and Romeo Romeo by Robin Kaye

Maya Banks is one of my favorite authors of the naughty books I read. Rush was the first in a trilogy, and the second one comes out this month which I'm super excited about.

Do you have any book recommendations? My next series is going to be the Blackstone Affair series. Has anyone read it?
