What I Wore: Sparkles & a Scarf

Tis the season for scarves!
I have been having a slight obsession with them, particularly cowls and infinity scarves.

Look what has me drooling:

As much as I love cowls and infinity scarves, I only own one. Scratch that - two and that's only because I did a quick stitch with the sewing machine and turned a regular scarf into an infinity one.

Because I have so many regular scarves hanging in the closet I needed to find a few new, cute ways to wear them. Of course, I immediately went to Pinterest to get ideas and I came away with a winner.

I now know how to successfully tie a scarf two different ways!

Non-Traditional Pumpkins

A few weekends ago, my little sister was in town and I had BIG plans to decorate some pumpkins together. You know, the whole she-bang: glitter, paint, jewels, ribbon. {check out my inspiration here} Anyways, we didn't get around to doing it that weekend, because you know how time fly's when you are having fun. Fortunately though, I had some extra time after work this past week and was able to knock out a few creations. . . just in time to take them to work for our Halloween party!

Paint and a whole lot of bedazzling!

Purple and gold glitter held on by mod podge!

I also painted a bigger pumpkin with our companies logo on it and I will clean it out and put some flowers in it! I may decide to add a ribbon bow or two, but we'll see.

Halloween is my least favorite holiday - but I love when you can be a little non-traditional while still being festive! CT even said 'This is the coolest pumpkin I've ever seen' in regards to the purple glittered pumpkin. He may not like our house in the process of all of my 'crafting' but I love when I create something and he likes it as much as I do.

What non-traditional decorations are up in your home?

This is a place where you can link up your best washi tape post of the week.

This weekend CT and I upgraded our old PC to a new macbook pro! I am in love with it. The battery has lasted 3 full days, it's super quick, and I love the fact that I don't have to get worried about it getting viruses.

So I went on amazing as soon as I got home for a cheap cover to protect this bad boy.

Who doesn't love the color robins egg blue?
I also then found this super fun keyboard cover.

Pink + Chevron = totally my style.

I figured if my computer was going to be super cute that I needed to make the charger super cute too.

Why not add a little washi tape to spice things up.
Now that I see all the colors together in this post, I'm not sure I like the blue.
I'll have to see how it looks when everything comes and I get the cover and keyboard put on. It may be too blue so I might have to redo it.
Good thing it's super easy to remove.
That's a plus and negative to washi tape.

What color do you think would look good?
I'm thinking probably pink.

Nail Files [7]

We just hired a new nail technician at work this week, so I got a nice 'training' manicure. You can't beat free - especially while on a budget.

 {Don't mind the nubs. I went on a binge last week =/}

Link Up: The Nail Files

SHELLAC - what did we do before you? You absolutely complete me.

I use to be an avid nail biter all my life, but ever since I started working at the spa my hands have blossomed some long, beautiful, strong nails! All thanks to Shellac and Shelly - my amazing nail technician.

Today I am linking up with Tara at Fabulous but evil.

The Nail Files Link Up

I was a bridesmaid a few weekends back and I needed something pretty and simple. I brainstormed with Shelly and she came up with the PERFECT nude!

CND Shellac -  1 coat of Iced Pearl and then 2 coats of Romantique.

Like I said, the PERFECT nude. A nude with a hint of pink, but what I really like is that you can still somewhat see my free edge underneath.

Plus, all things are better with a little glitter!
