Shop Small - My Faves!

If you follow along with me on any type of social media, you would know that I'm obsessed with dressing my little dude in all things trendy and grown. A year or so ago when we found out we were pregnant with a little boy - I vowed to not dress him in planes, trains, dogs or dinosaurs UNLESS it was uber modern. 

I love (some people might say obsessively)  dressing Kingston in handmade goodies from shops on Instagram and Etsy. The ladies behind these shops dedicate hours to their craft and it really shows. All the pieces I have received are of great quality and come at a really decent price. But if $15-$25 is a little more then you would pay for a piece of baby clothing ... just wait till the next holiday and you'll find that these shops do sales galore! I'm sure for St. Patties Day there will be lots of 15% off around the web. Follow along and be sure to snag something the next time they offer a deal!

Aren't all these lovelies just ... lovely? These days I'm obsessed with harems and leggings because they go over our cloth diapers so easy. I'm sure daycare loves them too because when I send him in jeans they literally have to throw him over their shoulders and have to 'jump up and down just to put 'em on'. 
And I've always been on to add accessories - whether its bibs, bow ties or hats.

Kingston's Closet - 6 Month/Valentine's Pictures

I've said it once and I'll say it over and over and over again ... I LOVE dressing a boy! Styling my little boy into a little hipster man is one of my favorite things to do. It all started during those first few months during those middle of the night nursing sessions. My bloodshot/sleep crusted eyes would spend so many minutes looking on Instagram and Etsy for inspiration. From the beginning, I was never going to be one of those moms who dressed their boy in dogs or lions (unless its modern/graphic etc.). As of today I'm following 783 'people' on Instagram and if I was to guess - 400 of them are handmade business's tailor to the little people. Needless to say, I'm as obsessed with online small business shopping as Olivia Pope is with drinking her fine wine.

Southeast high school (where Kingston goes to daycare) is having a winter spirit week this week and today is 'Ugly Christmas Sweater' day. Kingston doesn't have an ugly sweater so we had to come up with an alternative festive outfit.

Etsy has some really fun graphic tee's for the little ones and I'm trying to decide which one Kingston needs first. Santa needs to hurry up and come because my wallet can't handle all this cuteness.

Happy Friday! 

Usually I would start these posts with TGIF, but everyday is basically my Friday since being on maternity leave. I don't know what I'll do when I have to return to work in November. :/

Anyways . . . 

1. I went to a Doterra essential oil party last night and I left overwhelmed with information. It sounds legit and there was really good testimonials. Anyone have any experience with them? I've seen them all over Instagram lately so I'm curious. 

2. I have lost 31 pounds since having Kingston 5 weeks ago. How crazy is that? I only gained 26 pounds while pregnant so I'm down an additional 5 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I officially got 'cleared' from the Dr. on Wednesday so now it's time to start the toning process. Unfortunately, I lost all my booty that I worked so hard for 12+ years (playing volleyball). I'll be working on that plus regaining my abs. Thank goodness for Pinterest!

3. I am so thankful I was passed on the creative genes. My dad is an art teacher and his mother owned a quilting store. Anyone who knows me knows I love to craft/sew/add paint to everything. Check out what I've done this week!

4. Pray for me as I go on my first road trip tomorrow (alone) with Kingston to watch CT coach his first game of the season. Wichita KS - Crete NE. Thankfully Salina is on the way so we will stop and see Nana and G-Dub! 



5. I received a Target gift card and scored some goodies at the clearance racks today. Of course I didn't even look for myself, only the little man. 

Looking forward to the weekend. It's suppose to be in the 70's this weekend. I can't wait!

Kingston's Closet

As Kingston's closet begins to fill up - I figured this place would be the perfect place to showcase some of my little man's outfits. 

First let me let you in on a quick secret... {whispering voice}...

 I was a tad bit disappointment when the sonogram tech told us our little babe was a boy. 

Yes - I had a feeling from the beginning that we were team blue.

Yes - I've always wanted a boy first - mostly to play the big brother role that I never had. 

Yes - I wanted my parents to have a boy as their first grandchild. 

Yes - I'm your typical boy mom - I was a tom boy myself, played sports my whole life, and now I'm married to a coach/PE teacher. 

But what I wasn't excited about was the fact that I didn't think it would be as fun to dress a boy. BOY was I wrong! As soon as CT and I really started looking at outfits - my eyes were opened. Duh - I just needed to dress him like his daddy .. like a little man. He's going to be so dapper with lots of swagger!
