Product Review: Otteroo - LOVE IT!

Let me preface this post:
no babies were harmed or upset in the process of making this post.
Kingston LOVES the water and the freedom the Otteroo gives him.

CT had a friend on Facebook post a video of her babe in the Otteroo and naturally my first instinct was 'What the heck. That can't be safe or fun for that kid'. After the initial uneasiness of it wore off, I became more intrigued. CT kept talking about how much Kingston would enjoy it because he loves bath time - so I reached out to Otteroo and before you know it we had one coming in the mail. Both CT and I were super excited to get it so you better believe we got Kingston buckled in the moment it arrived. I blew it up while CT got the video camera ready!

What is an otteroo you ask? An otteroo is an infant flotation device that helps transition babes from the womb to the bath and then from the bath to the pool. It's ideal starting from 8 weeks till 35 pounds.

The otteroo was super simple to maneuver. It took 2 seconds to blow up and then it stretches horizontally to easily fit around your littles neck. It comes with a cushioned chin rest and two simple clasps to keep your little one comfortable and secure.

Obviously, there are hazards like any water device: Don't leave your child unattended in it. Check for proper tube inflation before placing your child in it. Make sure both clasps are secure to ensure it stays secure around your babies neck.

At 12 weeks I can tell Kingston is enjoying the freedom it gives him and his favorite thing to do in it is kick off the side of the tub. Right now we are getting 5 good minutes nightly during bath time, but I'm sure before long he is going to outgrow the bath. I'm really looking forward to next summer when we can use it at an actual pool!

So far we've gotten comments like 'he looks frightened' and 'what is that thing'.
Ya it may look funky but my child loves it!
Good job Otteroo!

My Summer Glow

Ever since I stumbled across these high lighting and contouring {H&C} photos on Pinterest and realized how the technique really can transform you, I was hooked on trying to replicate it.

This year I just recently started to buy other make up besides chapstick, mascara, and eye liner.

I have since discovered the greatness of BBCream, the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay, Latisse, and the technique of H&C.

I have definitely NOT perfected the technique but I have found some products that I really like and that help get the job done for now.

It looks as though KimK does all her H&C underneath her foundation.
Since I'm not a big foundation wearer, I use my BB Cream to even out my color, then I apply my bronzer, highlighter, and blush on top of that.

I'm O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D with this Two Faced Bronzer: Snow Bunny. From a girl that didn't spend more then $4 dollars on a product to paying $30 for a bronzer is quite a change.
I'm glad I found it but scared because now I'm hooked. I'll now never be able to go back to anything different - it's that good!

What products do you use to achieve your summer glow?
What are some of your favorite products that you can't live with out?

Smokey Hill River Festival 2013

Last weekend, CT and I went home to Salina [after our doctors appointment - which we got great news meaning it's go time again for try#2] for the Smokey Hill River Festival.

This is something I look forward to each year. Delicious food, live music, original art. Something I try my hardest not to miss!

I love the decorated trees that welcome you to the festival!

This owl was my birthday gift from my parents that we purchased from an artist at the festival. Each year I have been OBSESSED with his mosaic tile mirrors, which range usually anywhere from $200-600. I fell in love with this piece and it was at a much better price point.
I chose this piece because our bedroom decor is gray, metallic silver, and red with a birds and tree theme.

You can now find it hanging out in the tree in our room!

My dad just had to have this little fella.
Probably because of his hand expression. Haha.
I think he is made to go outside in your garden, but I'm thinking my dad is going to use it to house his keys and phone at night.

We had such a good time this weekend.
The only bummer was that it stormed Saturday evening so we had to leave and go home and miss out on the lead act for that evening, Mingo Fishtrap.

This weekend got me so excited for CT's and I adventures in NYC coming up the beginning of July.

Speaking of, I really should start planning that trip.
Stay posted on more to come. =)

PS- Look what CT spotted on me this weekend.

A gray hair! EKKK!
I only just turned 24.
What the heck.

Birthday Week Recap

Wowzers!
This lady feels like such a lush after this weeks shenanigans. I have drank maybe 5 times this whole year, and three of those were nights this week.

All day Wednesday was our managers retreat, and then we had a whole work meeting followed by pizza, booze, bowling, and go karts!

This is just a select few of the awesome ladies I work with.

I needed to mark this day in history. I beat the G = the greatness = CT!
I won't ever let him live it down.

 Thursday was my 24th birthday!
May 30th. The perfect day for a birthday.
It was a fast day at work with lunch at one of my faves with the med team ladies, and then an evening with my man.

When I walked in from work, CT surprised me with this beauty.

He started off spoiling me at the beginning of our relationship and it continues!

For dinner, we went to Playa Azul for some margs and the usual, and then headed to the circus.

My favorite part was the animals and the crazy motorcycle drivers in this huge metal ball.
What blew my mind was that the circus crew was maybe only a total of 20 people that performed all the stunts, music, and dancing.
The guy driving the motorcycle was the same one on the tight.
 They are very talented people!

On Friday, I stayed late at work and then went over to Miss Evie's house to have a triple date bbq.
I am trying to hook my sister up with her brother. =))

Jenna was in town for the weekend.
On Saturday, we went and got a manicure, did a little shopping, and then went to Old Chicago for some pizza.
I had to get a paint brush and some new hardware for my buffet table I'm redoing.

This was after 2 coats. I'll do one more coat tomorrow and then showcase the final product.
I love it!

Workout gear from the sis.

When anyone asked what I wanted for my birthday, I sent them to my previous blog posts and it worked. =))

I have a feeling 24 is going to be the best year yet!

Summer Break Envy

So today I was having a really bad case of the blues.
It was CT's first day on summer break and no work. It was also my first day as an assistant director having to close the spa.

Those two things together made me a sassy little lady today.

Luckily, I got to sleep in with CT today and we both got to take Bentley to his vet apoointment. What I didn't get to do was go to Salina with him to watch some baseball.

Needless to say, I'm envious!

I should have became a teacher.

A FACS teacher! Cooking, crafting, sewing.. the life!
 Plus paid summers off.
What was I thinking?
