My Fairytale: The Proposal

A little back ground information:
I was one of those girls that was always complaining to CT every time I got on facebook and saw that someone else was engaged. It seemed like a ton of people we knew were getting engaged but all of them had been together less time than we had. Needless to say, I was getting extremely impatient and probably super annoying always asking when our time was coming.

It was about this time 2 years ago when we were on our way to Kansas City for the Cardinals vs. Royals game. CT and I had met up with one of my best friends to do some shopping, comedy club, lots of eating, and the baseball game.

The weekend prior to going to Kansas City, CT wanted to go to my home town and visit my parents for the weekend. Looking back I should have put two and two together and knew that he was trying to find a time to talk to my parents. Another thing that should have tipped me off, was the week prior to attending the game, CT took me ring shopping and as I was looking at rings all he was concerned about were the bands.

(If you know me, you know I hate surprises and would have tried everything to find out prior. I know, shame on me!)

SO, Saturday June 27, 2010 as we were sitting in the outfield at Royals stadium CT asked me to marry him and I said yes!

He had sent me on long treacherous walk (which I had done 2 innings prior) to get him a hot dog and refill of mt. dew. It was his turn so of course it took some convincing on his part to make me go, but when I came back he got down on one knee and asked. =)

No, I didn't cry. No, that doesn't make me heartless. I was excited and in total shock!

Thankfully the ladies below us were kind enough to take pictures because it's something I love looking back on.

This took place in the 7th inning, and throughout the last 2 innings we were busy updating our family, friends, and facebook! I have never seen my husband so okay with his team loosing, but after he proposed our minds were else where.

Before heading out of town, I had CT stop at a Barnes & Noble where we found a wedding planning book. From that moment on, almost every thought and minute of my life was consumed with wedding planning!

He did a great job, huh?

Family Weekend

Weekends like this one make me miss my home town and my family. It's always great to get away and be a guest in someones home -- even if it is your parents! Makes me feel like a kid again. No dishes, trash, or laundry duty, someone else cooking dinner, and the list could go on. =) On the other hand, it's always nice returning home to your own house and especially your own bed!

Me and my mini me! (Don't judge the awful hair that was yet to be straightened!)

My dad is an art teacher, and was asked to set up a booth at this years river festival. All of his art work is from found 'scraps' aka junk!

Bentley throwing a fit and not laying in his bed on the way home. He hated it back there!

I love getting away! This weekend we are heading to St. Louis for a long weekend away + a baseball game = mini vacation. I feel extremely unprepared because we don't have a hotel yet and I don't have anything else planned besides the game. Any ideas of what to do it St. Louis besides visiting the arch??

SO excited! + Nail Files

I got the JOB! I got the JOB! I am excited and beyond relieved. I have probably sat through a good 15 interviews since graduating last May, and all my hard work a patience has paid off.

I will be working in the medical office for a very well known cosmetic clinic here in town. =)

God does have a plan for every situation, people. Don't doubt! --->(mostly a reminder to myself) There were many times I started to get bummed out and felt defeated, but now I'm extremely happy I handed all control over to Him.

Before I head out of town to spend a much needed weekend with my family, I wanted to link up with Tara & Vicki.

This week was inspired by Pinterest, of course!

I need to work on perfecting them, but you get the point. I tried to make the glitter have a gradient effect.

Folly by Sinful Colors
3rd color of glitter.

I must admit, I was one of those girls in high school that was glitter obsessed. I have a collection of these tubes that I would incorporate into my eye shadows! Ha!

Even though the color is dark fuchsia and the blue really is more turquoise, they turned out to look just red and blue.

Today's outfit was inspired by the nails! Go Jayhawks!!

PS - check out Charlotte Russe for cute colored shorts! I got this pair, a neon yellow, and a mint for $15 each!

PSS - if you wear a 6.5-7.5 in women shoes, you can probably fit into 5.5-6.5 youth shoes. These sparkle gold TOMS only come in youth and are much cheaper!

My Fairytale: How We Met

Be prepared to learn about our love story. Over the next few weeks, in between what ever other posts I don't have planned, I will be filling ya'll in on how CT and I met, the journey of our relationship, our engagement, our wedding, and our honeymoon!

CT and I met the first week of my freshman year at college. He was a football player and I was a new freshman volleyball player. Fall athletes were allowed to move into the dorms a week before all the other students. CT was told he wasn't going to be able to move into the dorms because they were all full, but a week before move in day he was told a room came available. He lived upstairs and I lived downstairs. Co-ed dorms = best invention ever!

(The boys playing dress up in my uniform. It's crazy how young we both look.)

Talking with him later, I found out that he had spotted me in the cafeteria and called "dibs" on me to the whole football table. Must have been my nice tanned legs in my volleyball spandex that got him ;)

Anyways, I came to college with boyfriend of 2 years and after I met Christian the rest was history. It's funny to look back on what these guys did to try and get our attention. Example below --

(We had the note displayed on the fridge and the old boyfriends didn't like that, so that's where the 'gay' came from. And their PSS was untrue, they never knocked. They were to chicken and just stuck it under the door.)

Looking back, they make for a good laugh!

Well after the notes, CT and I started hanging out and before long I was no longer with my x and we were a couple.

A picture on our very first day hanging out. I was going home that weekend and wanted to show all my girlfriends how cute my new 'friend' was!

Funny story -- after about two weeks of hanging out, we had our first sleep over and it was the most awkward thing ever. We were both fully clothed with shoes on, on top of the covers, trying to sleep next to each other in my twin bed. I wouldn't be surprised if we slept with the light on, that's how awkward it was. Haha. It brings a smile to my face to remember the old times and how smitten and cute we were.

Looking back, it's much easier to see how God has a plan for everything and it's really cool to see how things work out. It was definitely a God thing that a room had opened up a week before move in day and CT was able to move in upstairs. Why do we ever doubt Him? He knows exactly what He is doing.

Not much in our relationship has changed in 5 years besides our maturing looks and the fact that we are now married. We have been inseparable and best friends since day 1 and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love that man with all my heart!

Wichita RiverFest 2012 & Red Velvet Funnel Cake

I look forward to this time of the year for two reasons. 1) Because the most interesting people come out during riverfest. Think about the people that you can find on people of walmart but only worse. 2) The food!

This year I was super excited to find out prior to attending the riverfest, via facebook, that the funnel cake stand had a new menu item, RED VELVET funnel cake w/ CREAM CHEESE frosting! I knew I had to get one along with my usual roasted corn.

My usual river fest treat, roasted corn with melted butter and garlic salt!

Red velvet funnel cake with cream cheese frosting exceeded my expectations. It was totally worth the $7.

CT enjoying some dessert!

Last night was an expensive date night but totally worth it. People watching and good food. It doesn't get much better than that! This weekend we will be heading to Salina's RiverFest so be on the look out for more food pics. I might just have to try one of those jumbo turkey legs.

For the LOVE of Chevron!

I can thank Pinterest for my new found LOVE and awareness of chevron stripes. Everywhere I turn, I am finding more and more of it. From clothes to home decor, it's safe to say it's one of the hottest trends going on right now. Below are some of my favorite uses of the pattern.

Wishing I had some washi tape to make some beautiful cards.

Handmade ombre chevron wall hangings. So pretty!

Chevron on chevron! Loving the back of the chair also.

I want these so bad! I don't have a business or need for them, but they are beyond amazing.

Hopefully once we move out of our apartment (which doesn't seem to be happening any time soon), I can start incorporating more chevron into our home. What are your favorite uses of the pattern?

Friday Letters

Today I am linking up with Ashley from Adventure of Newlyweds for Friday letters!

Dear Dentist, Thank you for giving out FREE teeth whitening to all of your new patients. I plan to get these teeth sparkling white before long. Dear back, I wish you would stop breaking out since getting off of birth control. You make me self conscious in my swimming suit and I feel like I'm 14 again. Dear husband you don't need a new phone. I find it ironic that your phone starts messing up every time Sprint comes out with a new Evo. Dear interviewers, I may not have experience because I just graduated college, but that doesn't mean I'm not an extremely fast learner or hard worker. HIRE ME! I need the money and I'm an awesome employee. Dear Bentley, I am getting extremely tired of retrieving your ball from underneath the couch. You are too cute not to help, but after the 50th time it gets annoying.

Love, Tiffany

June 1

How crazy is it that May has came and gone and it is already June 1st! Time fly's when you are having fun. This past week has been extremely busy and extremely fun! I turned 23 on Wednesday and of course I've been celebrating all week. Monday, CT and I went to our regular Mexican restaurant and then went and hit some balls at the driving range. For it being only my second time playing golf, I actually did quite well.

I wasn't dressed appropriate and the golf club was to big for me so I had to choke up on it like a bat, but I ended up doing pretty well!

Tuesday I had a interview in McPherson and then came home and went to the water park at the Y. After the water park and spending all weekend at the lake, I have a pretty good color to my skin, and everyone looks better with a tan! ;)

Wednesday was my birthday and my parents drove into town and surprised me at Olive Garden. It was great to see them and have my absolute favorite meal: glass of Primo Amore Moscotto, salad, breadsticks with oil and vinegar,  and shrimp fettuccine alfredo. It doesn't get much better than that.

Happy birthday to me - shorts, bras, socks, and running shoes! I think someone is telling me to work out. No, just kidding. I asked for all of this because I have been on a huge workout kick. New work out clothes make me happy.

This weekend starts the Wichita River Festival. I wait around all year to be able to get some roasted corn (or 2), a huge turkey leg, dippin dots, and some fresh squeezed lemonade. Yumm! My mouth is just watering thinking about it. Hopefully it stops raining so we can walk downtown and have dinner.

PS- CT has lost about 8 pounds and an inch or 2 since starting Body by Vi. His favorite shakes are-

Banana Cheesecake- 8 oz almond milk, 2 scoops vi powder, a whole banana, 2 spoonfuls fat free chzcake pudding mix, 6 ice cubes, blend on low.
Peanut Butter Cheesecake- 8 oz almond milk, 2 scoops vi powder, 2 spoon ful fat free peanut butter, 1 spoonful fat free chzcake pudding mix, 6 ice cubes, blend on low.
Apple Pie- 8 oz almond milk, 2 scoops vi powder, 3 table spoons cinnamon apple sauce, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 6 ice cubes, blend on low.
Snickerdoodle- 8 oz almond milk, 2 scoops vi powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 1/2 tbsp honey
